Arran Private Cask #832 is an impressive 24 year old single malt from the Isle of Arran. It is matured in a classic Sherry Hogshead and bottled at 49.9%. This is mature, deep and elegant sherried Scotch whisky in its purest form.

Isle of Arran Distillers is a dynamic force in the Scotch whisky industry. They are also one of the few independent distilleries in Scotland. The distillery is located in Lochranza on the Isle of Arran. The island can be found off the west coast between Ayrshire and Kintyre. The scenery is dramatic and beautiful, and this is reflected in the characterful style of the house.

This bottling comes from cask no. 1996/832. The cask has been carefully selected as part of the distillery’s exclusive private cask series. Only 269 bottles have been bottled in total. This makes it particularly attractive to collectors and connoisseurs.

24 years of sherry hogshead maturation has given the whisky great complexity. The cask adds dark fruit, spice and a nice, rounded sweetness. At the same time, it retains Arran’s clean and fresh fruit profile. The result is a balanced and powerful single malt with a long maturation depth.

Tasting notes

Aroma: Dried raisins, figs and dates. Notes of orange peel, dark caramel and spicy oak. A hint of cocoa and roasted nuts.

Flavor: Full-bodied and silky smooth. Dark fruit, sherry sweetness and warm spices. Tones of chocolate, toffee and ripe malt.

Finish: Long and elegant. Sherry, oak and spicy warmth linger long in the mouth.
