Capitain-Gagnerot Echezeaux Grand Cru En Orveaux 2021

Capitain-Gagnerot Echezeaux Grand Cru En Orveaux 2021 is an exclusive Grand Cru from Burgundy. The wine comes from the legendary Echezeaux estate in Côte de Nuits. It produces some of the world’s most coveted Pinot Noir wines. The combination of terroir, ancient traditions and precise craftsmanship creates a wine of great finesse, depth and elegance.

Echezeaux is one of the most famous Grand Cru vineyards in Burgundy. The fields cover around 36 hectares and are divided between more than 50 winegrowers. Capitain-Gagnerot is among the producers who grow wine here. Their parcels are treated with great respect for the history and quality of the land. The result is a wine that expresses the character of the terroir with great precision.

The grapes are harvested by hand and undergo a very strict sorting process. Only the best bunches are used in production. Vinification is carried out with a strong focus on purity and balance. Fermentation takes place mainly in older oak barrels to preserve the natural fruit of the grape. Only a small proportion of the barrels are new, resulting in a discreet and elegant barrel influence.

The wine is aged for approximately 13 months in oak barrels, of which only around 10% are new. This aging provides structure and complexity without overpowering the finesse of the Pinot Noir grape. The 2021 vintage is elegant and precise with great freshness and great aromatic depth.
