The Merlot grapes, for example, come from the “Cabinet Ouest” parcel. Here you’ll find layered clay soils that produce round and fleshy wines. Here, sunlight reflects off the surface gravel and helps the grapes ripen perfectly. This gives structure and the characteristic velvety tannins that Margaux is known for.

At the highest point of the vineyard is the “Canon” parcel. Here, Petit Verdot grows in gravelly soil. This grape contributes deep color, spice and extra structure.
