Closson Chase Ridge Vineyard Pinot Gris 2025 – an elegant white wine from Canada

Discover a captivating Canadian white wine with freshness, body, and plenty of character. Closson Chase Ridge Vineyard Pinot Gris 2025 comes from Prince Edward County in Ontario, where the cool climate produces wines with elegance and impressive balance.

Here you’ll find a Pinot Gris with juicy fruit, delicate floral aromas, and a lovely mineral freshness. An exciting white wine that shows why Canadian wine deserves far more attention.

Pinot Gris from Ridge Vineyard

The grapes come exclusively from the winery’s own Ridge Vineyard. Here, the stony soil and cool climate contribute to the wine’s fresh and elegant character.

Whole grape clusters are gently pressed, after which the must ferments at 14 degrees in stainless steel tanks. The wine does not undergo malolactic fermentation, which preserves its lively acidity and pure fruit flavor.

Production is limited to just 496 cases. The result is a distinctive Canadian Pinot Gris with both depth and finesse.

Tasting Notes – fresh, fruity, and mineral

Nose: Inviting aromas of white flowers, ripe apples, and peaches. Subtle hints of honey and mineral notes add extra depth.

Taste: Juicy and full-bodied with delicious fruit, crisp acidity, and an elegant mineral character. The flavor is harmonious and finishes with a long, fresh aftertaste.

Serving: Enjoy the wine at 8–10 degrees. It pairs excellently with seafood, grilled fish, white meat, and fresh salads. It’s also a wonderful white wine to enjoy on its own.

Closson Chase – Pioneers of Canadian Wine

Closson Chase was founded in 1998 and was among the first producers to recognize the great potential of Prince Edward County on Lake Ontario.

The winery is housed in a historic barn, now known for its distinctive purple color. The first vines were planted in 1999, and since then, the winery has built a strong reputation for elegant wines from a cool climate.

Under winemaker Keith Tyers, Closson Chase is dedicated to sustainable viticulture and wines that reflect their terroir. Ridge Vineyard was planted in 2016 and is now home to the winery’s Pinot Gris.
