Elk Cove Vineyards Roosevelt Pinot Noir 2019 is an elegant and terroir-driven Pinot Noir from the prestigious Yamhill-Carlton AVA in Oregon. This single vineyard release comes from the acclaimed Roosevelt Vineyard and represents the essence of the northern Willamette Valley – finesse, depth and classic Oregon balance.

Roosevelt Vineyard was planted in 1993 and has since established itself as one of Elk Cove’s most respected vineyards. The vineyard is situated on Willakenzie soils, known for providing structure, minerality and concentration. The vines are planted in high density to promote quality and intensity in the grapes. The name Roosevelt refers to the majestic Roosevelt Elk, which still roams the area and symbolizes strength and natural elegance.

The wine is made from 100% Pinot Noir and aged for 10 months in French oak barrels, 24% of which are new barrels. Only the best barrels are selected for this cuvée, ensuring a refined integration between fruit and barrel. Bottled in July 2020 and made for both immediate enjoyment and further aging.

Tasting notes

Color: Clear ruby red with elegant transparency.

Aroma: Aromatic and complex with notes of red cherry, raspberry and wild strawberry, accompanied by subtle spices, light toasted oak and floral undertones.

Palate: Silky and structured with juicy red fruit, fine tannins and an elegant acidity that provides freshness and length.

Finish: Long and harmonious with balanced fruit and subtle barrel notes.

Elk Cove Roosevelt Pinot Noir 2019 is ideal with duck, pork, veal or mushroom dishes. Serve at 15-17°C and decant shortly before serving to open up the aromatic depth of the wine.
