Fernando de Castilla Oloroso Classic Dry – Classic dry sherry from Jerez

Fernando de Castilla Oloroso Classic Dry is an elegant and characterful dry sherry from Jerez in southern Spain. This wine represents the classic Oloroso style, where aging under oxidative conditions creates a wine with depth, warm spices and a nice nutty touch.

The wine is made from 100% Palomino grapes, the traditional grape variety in Jerez. After fermentation, the wine is fortified and then aged in the classic criaderas and solera system in American oak barrels. This method ensures consistent quality and gives the wine a complex and harmonious character.

Oloroso is aged without flor, which means that the wine develops through oxidative aging. This gives it deeper color, greater structure and the characteristic aromas of nuts, caramel and spices. At Fernando de Castilla, this edition has an average ageing of around 6 years, giving a nice balance between freshness and mature complexity.

The result is a dry and full-bodied sherry with great character and a nice, warm finish. Ideal as an aperitif, with tapas, aged cheeses or dishes with nuts and mushrooms.
