The whisky was distilled on June 30, 2008 and bottled in May 2020 from a single cask – a Chinquapin cask – which adds a special spicy and aromatic character. Chinquapin oak is known for its deeper spice, distinctive structure and a slightly sweet warmth that perfectly complements Glenallachie’s full-bodied distillate.

This is a true single cask release, with each bottle being unique. This bottle is number 284, emphasizing its exclusive and collectible nature. A powerful Speyside single malt with complexity, elegance and ageing potential.

Tasting notes

Nose: Layer upon layer of heather honey and barley sugar, beautifully balanced with pineapple, orange peel and a hint of licorice. An aromatic and inviting aroma profile with both sweetness and freshness.

Taste: Waves of heather honey and barley sugar roll over the tongue along with pineapple and grapefruit. Orange peel, licorice and rosehip add depth and complexity, while the cask adds structure and spicy warmth.

Finish: Long, intense and elegant with lingering citrus, spice and honey sweetness.
