Glendronach Traditionally Peated Highland Single Malt Whisky 48%

Glendronach Traditionally Peated 48% is a powerful and elegant Highland Single Malt Whisky. Classic sherry cask maturation and warm peat smoke meet in perfect balance. The result is a deep and characterful whisky with plenty of personality.

The whisky is matured in Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks and selected port casks. This gives an intense color and a rich, concentrated style. The peat is used in the traditional Highland method. The smoke is soft, earthy and beautifully integrated with the dark fruit.

At 48% alcohol, it is both powerful and harmonious. The flavor is dense and layered without being heavy. This is the perfect bottle for those who love sherry-driven single malt with a hint of smoke. Perfect for quiet evenings or as a gift for the whisky enthusiast.

Tasting notes

Aroma: Highland toffee, dark syrup and dried fruits. Light smoke, cocoa and spicy oak in the background.

Flavor: Rich and creamy texture. Notes of raisins, dark chocolate and caramelized sugar. The earthy peat smoke adds warmth and depth.

Finish: Long and persistent. Dark fruit, caramel and elegant smoke round out the experience.

The story of the distillery

The Glendronach Distillery was founded in 1826 by James Allardice. The distillery is located in the Forgue Valley in the eastern Highlands. The name means “valley of brambles” in Scottish Gaelic. The house is known for its uncompromising approach to sherry cask maturation. Many of the original methods are still used today. Traditionally Peated is a tribute to the early Highland style where peat was a natural part of production.
