Glenfarclas 50 Year Old Highland Single Malt Whisky – 50%

Glenfarclas 50 Year Old at 50% is one of the rarest and most uncompromising Scotch single malt whiskies you’ll find. This is a whisky that has spent half a century in cask and has been bottled at an impressive strength that retains intensity, depth and structure at a level few 50 year old whiskies can achieve.

Distilled and bottled by J&G Grant at the Glenfarclas Distillery in the heart of Speyside, this bottling was released in an extremely limited edition of just 836 bottles. A true collector’s bottle – but also a whisky that rewards the seasoned connoisseur with an unforgettable taste experience.

50% alcohol gives the whisky a remarkable vitality despite its age. It is a testament to exceptional cask quality and Glenfarclas’ ability to age whisky for decades without losing balance and elegance.

Tasting notes

Nose: Big and complex with deep notes of antique oak, dark toffee, raisins and dried fruit. Hints of leather, polished wood, orange peel and a hint of dark chocolate.

Flavor: Powerful and silky at the same time. Layer upon layer of dried fruits, honey, cocoa, coffee and warm spices. The alcohol is remarkably well integrated and enhances the flavor experience without dominating.

Finish: Extremely long, dry and elegant with notes of spices, cocoa, old oak and slightly bitter chocolate that linger long after the last sip.

A whisky for the ages

Glenfarclas 50 Year Old at 50% is the epitome of the distillery’s philosophy: long-term thinking, complete independence and uncompromising respect for tradition. It’s whisky created not for the pace of the market – but for history.

About Glenfarclas

Glenfarclas was founded in 1836 and has been family owned since 1865. The distillery continues to be run by the Grant family, who for six generations have preserved traditional production methods, including direct fired copper pot stills and long maturation in premium oak casks in classic dunage warehouses. This long-term approach has made Glenfarclas legendary – especially when it comes to extremely old bottlings.
