Tasting notes

Nose: Intense and inviting aromas of dried fruit, prunes and raisins, nicely balanced by dark chocolate, roasted nuts and a hint of spice. Elegant oak and sherry body slowly unfolds in the glass.

Flavor: Rich and complex with distinct sherry notes. Caramel, candied orange peel and dark syrup melt together with warm spices like cinnamon and nutmeg. The alcoholic strength is pronounced but nicely integrated, adding depth and intensity.

Finish: Long, warm and persistent. Notes of espresso, dark chocolate and a slight dryness from the ripe barrel finish the experience beautifully.

The history of the house

Glemfarclas was founded in 1836 and today is one of Scotland’s most recognized family-run distilleries. The distillery is still owned and run by the Grant family, now in its sixth generation, and continuity, tradition and uncompromising quality are the cornerstone of the Glenfarclas philosophy.

Glenfarclas is particularly known for its sherry cask matured whiskies and the iconic Family Casks range, where each cask is bottled separately and tells its own story. The name Glenfarclas means ‘the green valley’ and the distillery’s scenic location in Speyside is clearly reflected in the whisky’s clean, classic and timeless style.
