Gouden Carolus Christmas 10% is a powerful and characterful dark Belgian ale brewed for the cold months, where flavor, warmth and depth take center stage. After a 38-year hiatus, Het Anker brewery resumed the tradition of brewing this iconic Christmas Ale – and the result is a Christmas beer of absolute excellence.

This Belgian Christmas Ale is brewed with six different spices and three selected hop varieties, resulting in impressive complexity and an intense, rich flavor profile. The combination creates a warming and spicy beer experience, making it ideal for the Christmas table, winter coziness and hearty dishes.

Gouden Carolus Christmas appears dark and inviting in the glass with deep mahogany nuances and a nice, creamy head. The 10% alcohol content adds a pleasant warmth and supports the spicy and malty nuances.

Tasting notes

Aroma: Intense aroma of dark malt, dried fruit, caramel and warm Christmas spices.

Taste: Rich and round with notes of dark caramel, raisins, candied fruit and spices. The hops add structure and balance to the rich malt sweetness.

Finish: Very long, warm and spicy with an elegant bitterness that rounds out the experience.

This dark Belgian ale is ideal with Christmas food, duck, roast pork, strong cheeses or as a standalone cozy glass in front of the fireplace. Serve at 8-12°C to bring out the complex aromas and spicy depth.
