Hampden Estate Pagos 2023 Edition is an intense and characterful Jamaica rum where classic rum tradition meets Spanish sherry craftsmanship. This special release is the result of a collaboration between Hampden Estate in Jamaica and the famous sherry house Bodegas Lustau in Jerez, Spain. The result is a unique rum that combines powerful Jamaican character with the depth and elegance of sherry casks.

The name Pagos refers to the historic vineyards around Jerez, where some of the world’s most prestigious sherries are produced. For this rum, selected 500 liter sherry butts, which had previously contained Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez, were shipped from Spain to Jamaica. After three years of use in sherry production, the empty casks were transported to Hampden Estate, where they were filled with rum and given new life in the tropical climate.

The long contact with these casks gives the rum an incredibly complex character. The strong, natural ester aromas from Hampden’s traditional fermentation methods merge with the dried fruit, nut and spice notes of the sherry casks. To preserve the full aroma and structure of the rum, Pagos 2023 is bottled at a powerful 52% strength for a rich and intense flavor experience.
