Hampden HGML 7 Years Jamaica Rum 2018

Magnum Series #3 – Cristina de Middel Edition – 60%

Experience the essence of Jamaica’s most legendary distillery with Hampden HGML 7 Year 2018 – Magnum Series #3.
This edition isn’t just a rum – it’s a work of art in liquid form, created by La Maison & Velier in collaboration with Hampden Estate and Magnum Photos.

Rum meets art

The third release in the acclaimed Magnum Series presents a new and exciting collaboration. This time with Spanish photographer Cristina de Middel, former president of Magnum Photos.
She has captured the raw beauty of Jamaica in the image “Junjo”, which adorns the label. The image shows the vibrant energy of the country’s humid climate and rich culture – real and unfiltered.

Distilled passion

Distilled in 2018, the rum represents the HGML brand, one of Hampden’s most intense and aromatic styles.
After 7 years of tropical aging in Jamaica, it has developed a deep and complex character.
Heat, moisture and time have transformed the sugar cane juice into a rum with soul and strength.
At 60% alcohol, it’s both powerful and elegant – a true expression of Hampden’s signature.

Tasting notes

  • Nose: Rich and exotic. Overripe pineapple, green banana, lime zest, olives and a hint of licorice and acetone.

  • Flavor: Intense and oily. Burnt sugar, vanilla, dried fruit, fresh oak and a light mineral smoke.

  • Finish: Long, warm and persistent. Tropical sweetness and classic Jamaican funk that only Hampden can deliver.

A collector’s item for connoisseurs

The Magnum Series bridges the gap between rum masters and photographers. Each edition combines craftsmanship, aesthetics and history.
Cristina de Middel’s bottle unites artistic vision with Hampden’s authentic rum culture.
A unique collectible for art lovers and rum enthusiasts alike.

The story of Hampden Estate

Hampden Estate is located in Trelawny, Jamaica, and has been producing rum since 1753.
The distillery is famous for its long-fermented molasses-based rums, created using techniques passed down through generations.
Everything is distilled in traditional pot stills, giving it a distinctive deep and aromatic style.

In 2009, the Hussey family took over ownership. They introduced a new practice: aging directly in the warm climate of Jamaica.
The result is rum with far greater intensity and depth – a true expression of the island’s terroir.
Hampden HGML 7 year 2018 is living proof of this tradition. A rum that combines history, craftsmanship and pure Caribbean energy.
