Hutcheson Colheita 1966 – Rare and mature Colheita Port from Douro

Hutcheson Colheita 1966 is a unique and historic port from the Douro Valley in Portugal. Originating from a single harvest in 1966, this rare Colheita Port matured for decades in oak barrels before being bottled in 2016. The result is a port with impressive complexity, elegance and depth that only long barrel aging can create.

Colheita Ports are special tawny Ports from a single vintage that are aged for many years in oak barrels. The long aging gives the wine its characteristic amber color, silky texture and complex aromas of dried fruit, nuts and spices. Hutcheson Colheita 1966 is therefore a port for collectors and connoisseurs who want a truly unique wine experience.

After nearly 50 years of barrel aging, this port offers an incredible balance of sweetness, freshness and mature complexity. The long maturation has produced a wine with refined elegance, concentrated flavor and a very long finish.

The story of Hutcheson

Hutcheson Feuerheerd & Associados was founded in 1881 by two Britons, Thomas Page Hutcheson and Alexander Davidson Taylor. The house quickly established itself as a serious producer of quality sports wines from the Douro Valley.

In the 1920s, the company was handed over to the Portuguese Barros family. In 1996, Hutcheson merged with Feuerheerd Bros, strengthening its position in the world of port wine. Since 2006, the Sogevinus Group has been in charge of the vineyards and production. The group is also behind well-known port houses such as Kopke, Burmester and Barros.
