Limited Series Batch 1 from Romdeluxe is an uncompromising and powerful rum from Ghana – bottled at full strength and created for the serious enthusiast. We’re talking small batch, pot still and only 188 bottles in total. An intense and characterful release that shows a completely different and exciting expression from the African continent.

This rum was distilled in 2020 at the ARC distillery in Ghana and bottled already in March 2021 after 7 months in American virgin oak barrels. Although the maturation time is short, the fresh, new barrel provides a distinctive impact with plenty of spice, structure and depth.

Sugar Cane Juice & Pot Still – Pure Character

The rum is produced on sugar cane juice, which gives a more rural and aromatic expression than classic molasses-based rum. Distillation takes place in pot stills with double distillation, ensuring richness, complexity and a distinctive, almost raw intensity.

The aging is done as continental aging, which gives a more controlled cask influence compared to tropical aging – but the new American casks still add distinctive notes of vanilla, oak and spice.

Tasting notes

Aroma: Fresh sugar cane, green herbs, vanilla, new oak and a hint of pepper and citrus.

Flavor: Intense and rich with a distinct cask influence – notes of vanilla, coconut, caramel and spicy oak balanced by vegetal and grassy notes from the sugar cane juice.

Finish: Long, warm and powerful with dry oak, spice and a light mineral finish.

Bottled at 60.3% alcohol, this rum delivers maximum flavor intensity. It can be enjoyed neat for the full experience or with a few drops of water to open up more nuances and slightly dampen the alcohol.
