An exceptional year – selected from the best terroirs

The grapes for the Vintage 2000 Collection are carefully selected from some of the greatest terroirs in the Montagne de Reims, with Pinot Noir in particular providing structure and backbone, while Chardonnay adds freshness and finesse. The combination results in a champagne with both power and precision.

The long ageing in the chalk cellars – under optimal conditions – has lifted the wine to its full potential. Time is a crucial factor in Palmer & Co’s style, and in the Collection series in particular, the vintage is allowed to develop in peace and quiet until the complexity is fully unfolded.

Tasting notes

Aroma: Ripe and complex with notes of baked apple, candied citrus and dried flowers. Nuances of brioche, toasted nuts and light honey are evidence of long bottle ageing.

Taste: Rich and harmonious with creamy mousse. Flavours of ripe fruit, orange peel and slightly caramelized notes are balanced by fresh acidity and minerality.

Finish: Long and elegant with fine tertiary notes and a persistent, chalky freshness.
