This Single Cask rum is created in limited quantities and clearly shows how complex and refined rum from Trinidad can be.

The Land Selection range celebrates the diverse origins of rum. Selected casks from famous distilleries around the world are carefully chosen and bottled as unique editions. Each rum tells its own story of climate, aging and distillation. Trinidad is known for elegant rums with depth and character, and this edition is an excellent example of just that.

Distilled in 2012, this rum has been aged for a full 12 years, with several different barrel types playing an important role in its development. First, the rum underwent tropical aging in bourbon barrels, where the heat and climate of the Caribbean provide intense and rapid maturation. This is followed by continental aging in Ferrand barrels in Europe, which provides a slower and more controlled development of the aromas.

As a final refined touch, the rum is aged for an additional 1.5 years in Moscatel wine barrels. This extra maturation adds complexity, depth and an elegant fruity character that elevates the rum to an even higher level. The result is a rum with a great balance of spice, sweetness and deep cask notes.

Tasting notes

The nose is rich and complex with distinct woody and spicy notes. Aromas of dried fruits also emerge, while a light herbal touch adds freshness and elegance. The palate opens with a grapey sweetness that gradually develops into a beautiful blend of dried fruits and warm spices.
