Planteray Single Cask 16 year Fiji Island Rum is an uncompromising and rarely seen rum, selected exclusively as Eriksen Vinhandel’s 16th Edition Single Cask. This is a bottle created for the passionate rum lover who seeks intensity, complexity and true craftsmanship – and who appreciates rum that tells a story in every glass.

Distilled in 2009 at the Rum Co. of Fiji, the rum has been patiently aged until 2025. Along the way, it has undergone a remarkable triple maturation that combines tropical power, French elegance and a rare smoky finish. Bottled at 55% and drawn from a single cask, numbered and produced in very limited quantities, this is a rum that both impresses in the collection and delivers a profound tasting experience.

Tasting notes

Nose: Complex and alluring with distinct notes of peated malt, green apple and lemon, nicely rounded by vanilla and honey. A surprising and elegant balance between freshness and smoke.

Flavor: Rich, round and oily. Layers upon layers of caramel, butter, orange peel, malt, dark chocolate and licorice. A powerful flavor experience where sweetness, smoke and spice blend harmoniously.

Finish: Long, warm and slightly smoky with notes of wood, bacon, clove and lingering chocolate. A finish that lingers and calls for another sip.

The history of the house

Planteray (formerly Plantation) has earned international recognition for its ability to mature rums with a precision and creativity that few others can match. The house signature is the double – and in rare cases triple – aging process, where the rum first develops power and aroma in tropical climates and then refines in French oak at Maison Ferrand in Cognac.

Master Blender Alexandre Gabriel personally selects each cask for the Single Cask series. Only a few casks are bottled and no two bottlings are the same.
