The distillery was established in 1828 and is still run by J. & A Mitchell & Co. Ltd, who for generations have preserved the old production methods. Springbank 10 year old is a perfect example of the distillery’s style. The whisky is balanced between fruit, malt, light smoke and maritime notes that are characteristic of Campbeltown. It is matured in a combination of bourbon and sherry casks, giving both freshness and depth of flavor.

An important detail for whisky enthusiasts is that Springbank is bottled without chill filtration and without the addition of color. This means that the whisky appears completely natural and retains all its aromas and oils from the cask maturation. At low temperatures, the whisky can therefore become slightly cloudy – a natural sign of quality – which disappears again at room temperature.
