Taylor’s 50 Year Old Tawny Port – Golden Age is the epitome of time, tradition and uncompromising quality. This very old tawny port is blended from rare wood-aged port wines that have matured for a full five decades in oak barrels. The result is an exclusive collector’s edition, released in very limited quantities and created for those special moments.

This 50-year-old Tawny comes from the eastern part of the Douro Valley, home to some of the region’s finest vineyards and most concentrated wines. The selected wines have been individually aged in Taylor’s cellars in spicy oak barrels, carefully selected and reserved by the house’s experienced team. After half a century in wood, the wine has reached its golden age – where balance, complexity and silky texture come together.

Golden Age is concentrated, refined and deeply sophisticated. Oxidative ageing over 50 years has refined the wine to an essence of nuts, dried fruit and noble caramelized sweetness, lifted by vibrant acidity for freshness and elegance. It’s the perfect wine to mark a 50th anniversary, a milestone or a special achievement.

Tasting notes

• Aroma: Intense and layered with dried figs, raisins and dates, combined with toasted almonds, walnut, orange peel and fine spicy notes.
• Flavor: Extremely silky and concentrated with toffee, caramel, nuts and complex oxidative depth. A nice acidity creates perfect balance.
• Finish: Endlessly long and elegant with warm, spicy and nutty notes that linger for a long time.
