The Glenturret – luxury whisky tasting from the Scottish Highlands

Look forward to a very special evening at Eriksen Vinhandel, where we invite you to an atmospheric and inspiring whisky tasting with The Glenturret – Scotland’s oldest whisky distillery, founded in 1763.

Today, The Glenturret is known both as the heart of The Famous Grouse and for its own rare and distinguished single malts that have earned great acclaim among whisky lovers around the world. A true hidden gem in the Scottish Highlands, the distillery combines proud tradition with uncompromising quality.

One of the hallmarks of Glenturret is its unique production method. As the only distillery in Scotland, they work with an open steel mash tun that is still stirred by hand. It’s a testament to a distillery where craftsmanship, patience and respect for tradition are still at the core. The annual capacity is modest, which only emphasizes the exclusive character.

Behind the modern style of the house is acclaimed whisky maker Bob Dalgarno, who joined Glenturret in 2019 after an impressive career at Macallan. Since then, he has left his mark on the distillery’s highly acclaimed whiskies. His penchant for aging in exquisite Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks is evident in Glenturret’s elegant and luxurious style. In 2021, he was named Master Distiller of the Year.

This evening is all about luxury whisky. We will taste 7 outstanding whiskies and 1 New Make sample, providing an exciting insight into the distillery’s raw and unedited spirits.

The tasting will be led by European Brand Ambassador Luca Rapetti, who will guide us through the evening with stories about the distillery, production and each evening’s drams. The tasting will be conducted in English.

There are a limited number of seats and only 30 participants can attend. We therefore recommend that you secure your ticket well in advance.
