Distilled in 1991 at the legendary Uitvlugt distillery in Guyana and created in the iconic Port Mourant pot still – the world’s only double wooden pot still – this rum represents some of the most authentic and traditional rum the world has to offer. A 32-year aged rum with depth, intensity and a character that only comes from time, tropical climate and exceptional craftsmanship.

After distillation, the rum has matured for a full 32 years in a former malt whisky cask. The combination of the heavy, oily Port Mourant style and the influence of a malt whisky cask adds an extra dimension of complexity. Tasting notes

The story behind the distillery and bottler

The Uitvlugt distillery in Guyana closed in 1999, but before that it had produced some of the most characterful rums in the world. The legendary Port Mourant pot still, which has been in operation since the 1700s, was moved to the Diamond distillery after its closure, where it remains active. This particular double wooden pot still is known for creating a heavy, textured and deeply aromatic style of rum that is loved by connoisseurs the world over.
