The Thin Blue Line Denmark

Danish police have been on a long journey through history. From the first ten police officers hired in Copenhagen in the late 1600s to the approximately 14,000 people working in the Danish police today.

The words “Politie” and “Policie” originally mean to keep good customs and order. The work of the police has evolved significantly since the early cops patrolled the streets, and today’s officers have to deal with many different tasks and responsibilities. What both past and present police officers have in common, however, is the people behind the uniform – people who put themselves at risk on behalf of society in the hope of a safer and better society.

The Thin Blue Line Denmark is a voluntary non-profit organization founded and run by police employees. The organization was established after two serious shootings of Danish police officers in 2016, one of which tragically claimed the life of a police officer.

The purpose of the association is to support current and former police employees who have suffered serious mental or physical injuries in the line of duty. At the same time, the association also helps the relatives and bereaved families.

About A.H. Riise

A.H. Riise was a Danish pharmacist who settled on the island of St. Thomas in the Danish West Indies in the 1800s. Here he began making exclusive spirit blends based on local ingredients and botanical spices from the Caribbean. His products quickly became known for their quality and complexity and were supplied to the Danish court, among others.

Today, his legacy lives on in a series of exclusive bottlings where tradition, craftsmanship and taste remain at the center.
