The Distillery’s History

Glenlossie Distillery was founded in 1876 near Elgin in the heart of Speyside. The distillery is particularly well-known among whisky connoisseurs for its elegant and light style, which is due in part to the use of the distinctive purifiers on the stills. This technique produces an exceptionally clean and fruity distillate, which has made Glenlossie an essential component of several of Scotland’s most famous blends, while official single malt bottlings remain relatively rare.

Since 1842, Cadenhead’s has been Scotland’s oldest independent whisky bottler. With the Original Collection series, the house selects casks that showcase the distilleries’ authentic character without unnecessary intervention.
