Distillery labels
Since 1895 Gorden & Macphail has worked with the majority of Scotland´s distilleries to build up an impressive portfolio of some of the world´s most reowned Single Malt Scotch Whiskies. Casks owned by Gordon & Macphail are sent to distilleries througout Scotland and filled with "new-make" spirit, before being left to mature at the distillery or in bonded warehouses in Elgin, in North East Scotland.

Working in partnership with the individual distillery owners, each whisky in our Distillery Labels range is uniquely labelled. In years goneby many of these exclusive designs were used to "officially" bottle the whisky under license from the distillery. Today relationsship with distiller owners enable Gordon & Macphail to bottle a soecial range of whiskies at various strengths and ages -each with it´s own distinctive distillery label.

Our story:
The family owned and managed firm of Gordon & Macphail is the custodian of some of the world´s finest and rarest single malt whiskies. Established in 1895 Gordon & Macphail was joined in its first year of trading by John Urquhart to assist with the whisky side of the business. Twenty years later, in 1915, John Urquhart became senior partner and in 1933 his son, George, joined the firm. George Urquhart was regarded as a pioneer. While most malt whisky produced was being used for blends, it was George´s vision to mature whisky longer than the most and bottle it as single malt. - Today it is George Urquhart´s children and grandchildren who own and manage the business; each one leaning from the preceding generation the time honoured skills and knowledge required to select, mature and bottle the highest quality Single Malt Scotch Whisky.
