In 2019, a cool and rainy spring gave way to high temperatures that lasted until November. A generous bout of rain at the end of July averted any risk of drought, allowing the grapes to ripen perfectly and express the character of the soil. Showers at the end of September provided ideal conditions for Botrytis cinerea to develop throughout the vineyards. In mid-October, five days of exceptional meteorological conditions enabled us to complete the harvest in our finest terroir and pick grapes with optimal concentration.
The result of our unique patchwork of soil, our experienced team and our knowledgeable state selection, 2019 Yquem is a wine of rare beauty.
