Alexandre Bonnet Le Géande 2017 – Rare single vineyard champagne made from 7 grapes

Alexandre Bonnet Le Géande 2017 is a unique champagne from Domaine Alexandre Bonnet in Les Riceys in Champagne. This special cuvée comes from the single vineyard La Géande and is the first champagne ever made from all seven permitted grape varieties in Champagne. The result is a rare and collectible champagne with history, complexity and impressive balance.

The grapes come from the La Géande field, where all seven classic Champagne grapes are planted side by side. Each grape variety is used in equal proportions in the blend, giving the champagne a unique aromatic complexity. Production is true to both terroir and grapes. Domaine Alexandre Bonnet works with minimal intervention in the cellar to bring out the natural expression of the grapes.

Despite its Brut Nature style, the champagne is surprisingly round and fruity. It has a nice balance between fresh acidity, ripe fruit and a distinct mineral character. The wine clearly expresses the terroir of Les Riceys and shows the great skill of the house of Alexandre Bonnet.

Only 4400 bottles of this special 2017 vintage have been produced. This makes it a rare experience for champagne lovers and collectors who want something truly unique in the glass.

Tasting notes

The aroma is fresh and complex with notes of citrus, ripe apples and white flowers. In addition, there are nuances of stone fruit and a slight mineral note. The taste is elegant and vibrant with a nice fruity character, crisp acidity and a creamy texture. The finish is long, fresh and mineral with great balance.
