What makes this “Albariza Edition” special is the finishing in casks that previously held Pedro Ximénez sherry from the famous Albariza lands in Jerez, Spain. Albariza is a calcareous soil known for producing grapes with great concentration and sweetness – something that is clearly reflected in the rich and full-bodied profile of the whisky. The combination of Benriach’s smoky distillate and these unique casks creates a whisky with an impressive balance of sweetness, smoke and spice.

The color is deep amber with a copper glow. On the nose, dark syrup, raisins and ripe plums are elegantly enveloped in soft peat smoke. The palate is rich and oily with layers of figs, dates, dark chocolate and caramel melting together with a persistent, aromatic smoke. The finish is long and intense with sweet sherry notes, spicy oak and an elegant lingering smoke.
