Foursquare Supernum 21-Year-Old Single Blended Rum 55% – Exclusive Barbados Rum from 2004

Foursquare Supernum is an extraordinary 21-year-old Single Blended Rum from Barbados. It was created in collaboration between Richard Seale of Foursquare and Luca Gargano of Velier. The result is an exclusive bottling with impressive age, complexity, and character.

The rum was distilled in 2004 and bottled in February 2026 at 55% alcohol. The entire aging process took place in the tropical climate of Barbados, resulting in intense cask influence and remarkable depth.

Supernum combines classic bourbon cask aging with a special maturation in casks previously used for Pineau des Charentes. This combination gives the rum an exciting balance of ripe fruit, spices, and elegant oak.

21 years of tropical aging in Barbados

Foursquare Supernum has undergone its entire maturation process in Barbados. The warm Caribbean climate fosters close contact between the rum and the oak barrels.

The blend is composed of two distinct aging profiles. One portion has been aged for all 21 years in former bourbon barrels.

The other portion was first aged for 19 years in bourbon barrels. It then spent an additional two years in barrels that previously held Pineau des Charentes.

Pineau des Charentes is a French fortified wine specialty from the Cognac region. These barrels can impart extra fruity nuances and a more complex aromatic character.

The overall result is a mature Barbados rum, where the long barrel aging and the variety of cask types create great complexity.

Single Blended Rum – Two Distillation Methods

Foursquare Supernum is made from molasses and combines two different distillation methods.

Part of it is distilled in traditional double-retort copper stills. This method produces an aromatic and full-bodied distillate.

The other portion is produced in a traditional Coffey column still. This contributes a lighter and more elegant character.

The two distillates are blended before barrel aging. This combination forms the foundation of Foursquare’s distinctive Single Blended Rum.

An exclusive collaboration between Richard Seale and Luca Gargano

Supernum is the result of a collaboration between two prominent figures in the world of rum.

Richard Seale oversees production at the Foursquare Distillery. He is known for his work with traditional distillation methods and natural rum without unnecessary additives.

Luca Gargano of Italy’s Velier has spent many years working on special rum releases. His interest in origin, distillation, and tropical aging has helped shape modern rum culture.

Foursquare Supernum brings together their shared passion for authentic rum and exceptional barrel aging.

Only 2,800 bottles worldwide

Foursquare Supernum has been released in a limited edition of 2,800 bottles. This makes the bottling particularly interesting for collectors and enthusiasts.

With 21 years of tropical aging, Supernum ranks among Foursquare’s older releases. The unique combination of bourbon casks and Pineau des Charentes also gives this release its own distinct identity.

The rum is bottled at cask strength (55%) with no added sugar, colorants, or flavorings.

Serving and Enjoyment

Foursquare Supernum deserves to be savored slowly. Serve it at room temperature in a good tasting glass.

Let the rum rest for a few minutes to allow the complex aromas to unfold.

At 55% alcohol, a few drops of water can be interesting. This can highlight other nuances and provide a more rounded tasting experience.

The History of Foursquare Distillery

Foursquare Rum Distillery is located in Barbados and was established in its modern form by the Seale family in 1996.

The distillery is led by Richard Seale, who represents the fourth generation of the family’s spirits business. Foursquare is particularly known for its aged Single Blended Rums and its uncompromising approach to production.

Here, pot stills and column stills are combined with carefully selected oak barrels. The distillery works with natural rum and has great respect for Barbados’ traditional production methods.

Supernum showcases what this approach can achieve after 21 years of tropical aging. An exclusive and characterful rum where history, craftsmanship, and exceptional barrels come together.
