Kilkerran Heavily Peated Batch 4 is an intense and characterful Campbeltown single malt for those who love heavy smoke and true craftsmanship. Bottled at 58.6% and bottled on 06.04.2021. A whisky with raw strength, depth and a classic maritime edge.

This heavily peated edition shows a different side of the Campbeltown style. The smoke is distinctive but balanced. Underneath you’ll find fruit, malt and a slightly salty note. The combination makes for a complex and vibrant dram that develops beautifully in the glass.

The whisky is aged in oak casks and appears natural and unfiltered. It is not chill-filtered and has no added color. This means that you experience the whisky exactly as it was created at the distillery.

Tasting notes

Nose: Distinct peat smoke, ash and light sea breeze. Underlying notes of citrus, vanilla and fresh malt.

Flavor: Powerful and rich. Intense smoke, black pepper and caramelized sugar. Hints of lemon and salted caramel.

Finish: Long and warm. Smoke, oak and spices linger with a dry and elegant finish.

Kilkerran is produced at Mitchell’s Glengyle Ltd. in Campbeltown. The distillery revived the tradition in the area in 2004. Campbeltown is one of Scotland’s classic whisky regions and is known for its maritime and slightly oily style.

Kilkerran combines traditional craftsmanship with modern precision. The Heavily Peated series showcases the distillery’s ability to work with heavy peat smoke without losing balance and structure. Batch 4 is a strong example of this style.
