While Miyagikyo is usually associated with a light and fruity style, this peated edition shows a completely different side. The whisky is made exclusively from batches of peated malt. The result is a refined, elegant and balanced smoke profile that challenges the classic image of the distillery.

Tasting notes

Nose: Rich and complex. Subtle notes of toast, dry peat and twigs. A fine and elegant smoke aroma with depth.

Taste: Dynamic and vibrant. Exotic nuances combine with honey and floral notes. The peat sneaks in elegantly and settles like a fine layer of ash. The mid-palate shows mineral depth and structure.

Finish: Long and well-balanced. Chocolate, vanilla and spicy peat emerge. Tart notes of ripe fruit spread slowly. In the empty glass, aromas of cigar, wild flowers and black licorice.
