Plantation Vintage Collection N. 2 “Under the Sea” Panama 2008 is an exclusive one-time limited edition rum for the serious rum lover. This is a vintage rum from Panama with a full 13 years of double aging and a strength of 45.7%. It’s terroir, craftsmanship and cask art in perfect balance.

This rum was distilled in 2008 at Alcoholes del Istmo Distillery in Las Cabras de Pesé in the Herrera region of southwestern Panama. The area is known for its tropical climate and optimal conditions for growing sugar cane. The warm weather ensures intense maturation and great aromatic concentration.

The rum was aged for 12 years tropically in Panama, where it developed depth and richness. It was then shipped by sea to Javrezac in southwestern France. Here it was aged for a further 1 year in French oak barrels for continental aging. Plantation Rum’s characteristic double aging adds extra complexity and elegance.

Master Blender Alexandre Gabriel personally selected 19 casks for this bottling. The result is a rum that pays homage to Panama’s southern terroir and combines tropical power with French finesse. A collector’s bottle and a unique opportunity to experience Panama 2008 in its most refined form.

Tasting notes

Aroma: Rich and intense with ripe tropical fruits, caramel and vanilla. Hints of roasted nuts and light spice.

Flavor: Round and concentrated. Notes of brown sugar, dried fruit and dark toffee. The cask gives structure with oak, warm spices and a light cocoa note.

Finish: Long and harmonious with sweetness, spicy oak and an elegant finish.
