In this PX-finished version, the experience is further elevated with an additional aging phase that gives the rum a vinous, dark and luxurious character – perfect as a avec, gift or collection centerpiece.

Three agings – one unforgettable rum experience

The journey begins in Barbados, where the rum matures in American white oak barrels in a tropical climate. Here the classic Barbadian style develops with notes of vanilla, coconut and caramel – round, soft and naturally sweet.

The rum is then transported to France and aged in Ferrand cognac barrels at Pierre Ferrand. This double maturation provides structure, elegance and a silky smooth texture that has become Planteray’s signature.

As a final touch, the rum is further matured in ex-Pedro Ximénez sherry casks from Andalusia. This adds deep, vinous nuances of raisins, nuts and dark chocolate, creating a rounded, almost dessert-like complexity.

Tasting notes

Aroma: Intense and inviting with baked figs, vanilla, caramelized banana and roasted nuts, accompanied by a soft sherry aroma.

Flavor: Full-bodied and velvety smooth. Layers of toffee, cocoa, candied orange and dark chocolate are elegantly balanced by spicy oak and vinous sweetness.

Finish: Long, round and luxurious with dried fruit, PX sherry, caramel and a warm, lingering finish.
