The Uncharted Whisky Co. Park Life 22-Year-Old Single Malt 55%

Here’s a whisky for those who love to explore—and who don’t need a famous distillery name on the label to know there’s something truly exciting in the glass.

The Uncharted Whisky Co. Park Life 22 Year Old is a rare Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky, distilled in 2003 and bottled in 2025 after a full 22 years of aging. The distillery’s name cannot be revealed, but the whisky comes from a Highland distillery, and the quality certainly speaks for itself.

This is exactly the kind of bottling we love at Eriksen Vinhandel. A whisky with age, character, and plenty of personality, where the contents are far more important than the name on the label.

22 years of aging in ex-bourbon casks

Park Life has been aged for a full 22 years in ex-bourbon casks. The long aging has given the whiskey plenty of depth, while still allowing the distillery’s original character to shine through clearly.

The ex-bourbon cask contributes classic notes of vanilla, caramel, and soft oak spice. All of this is accompanied by fresh, herbaceous notes and a subtle hint of smoke. This is not a whiskey where the cask takes over. On the contrary, the cask and the distillate work beautifully together.

The whiskey is bottled at 55% ABV, which adds extra intensity and a lovely body. The high alcohol content enhances the aromas while also allowing you to experiment with a few drops of water in your glass.

The distillery is a secret—the whiskey speaks for itself

One of the exciting things about independent bottlers is that they occasionally gain access to fantastic casks from well-known distilleries. Sometimes, however, there’s a condition: the distillery’s name cannot appear on the bottle.

That’s the story behind Park Life. The Uncharted Whisky Co. says the whisky comes from a specific distillery in the Highlands, but they’re not allowed to say which one.

Instead, they give us a few clues. The whisky does not come from Islay, Mull, Skye, Jura, or Arran. So there’s a bit of guessing to do while the whisky unfolds in the glass.

The most important thing, however, is the contents. Here you get a 22-year-old Highland Single Malt, where the distillery’s character still shines through clearly after more than two decades in the cask. That’s exactly what an independent bottling should be.

Natural whiskey without unnecessary processing

The Uncharted Whisky Co. takes a simple approach to whisky. When the contents are good, you shouldn’t change more than necessary.

Park Life is therefore not chill-filtered and is bottled without added color. This allows the whiskey to express its natural character, preserving its aroma, texture, and body.

We recommend tasting it neat the first time. Let it sit in the glass for a few minutes so the aromas have time to open up. Then you can add a few drops of water. This can bring out the vanilla, caramel, and more herbal notes in particular.

Tasting Notes

Aroma:
Inviting and complex, with sweet caramel, vanilla, and an exciting fresh hint of mint and eucalyptus. With a little time in the glass, more herbal and ripe malty notes emerge.

Taste:
Full-bodied and intense with a beautiful balance between sweetness and fresh herbs. Creamy vanilla and caramel are joined by malt, spices, and a quite subtle hint of smoke. The 55% ABV provides power without masking the whiskey’s many nuances.

Finish:
Long and warm with a fine combination of caramel, vanilla, and soft herbs. Finally, a light smoky note emerges, lingering elegantly on the palate.

The Story of The Uncharted Whisky Co.

The Uncharted Whisky Co. is an independent Scottish whisky bottler focused on interesting casks and whiskies with personality. Here, it’s not just about the big names on the label, but largely about the quality of what actually ends up in the glass.

The Park Life series is a prime example of this philosophy. Here, The Uncharted Whisky Co. has gained access to aged whisky from a Highland distillery, though the distillery’s name cannot be disclosed on the bottling.

This makes Park Life 22 Years 2003/2025 an exciting release for both collectors and whiskey enthusiasts. A mature Highland Single Malt aged for 22 years in ex-bourbon casks, with a high alcohol content and plenty of distillery character.
