The art of maturation:

When producing fine Scotch whisky, the maturation process is one of the most celebrated factors in creating the individual character of each whisky expression. Having identified the importance of maturation, and using our many years of experience in the whisky industry, Murray David is able to offer whisky lovers an opportunity to savour and enjoy the influence to different casks on their whisky.

Coleburn Distillery, the home of Murray McDavid has traditional dunnage warehouse where we mature our wide range of quality single malt and grain whiskies. It is here where we practise the Art of Maturation to produce the great Scotch drink.

It is a happy accident of history that are back in the 18th century it was discovered that scotch whisky was greatly improved when stored in oak barrels which had previously held wine and sherry. Today Murray McDavid continues to honour the long-established tradition of maturation its whisky in a variety of casks that have been used to produce other fine spirits and wines.
