A tribute to the legacy of A.H. Riise

Albert Heinrich Riise was not only a pharmacist and manufacturer, but also a passionate botanist and scientist. His extensive collection of plants, herbs and conch shells can be found today at the Zoological Museum in Copenhagen and in museums in Stockholm and Oslo. Several animal species bear his name, including Brachiotenthis Riisei, a small octopus from the West Indies recorded in 1882 by Professor Johannes Steenstrup. The Founder’s Reserve series is a tribute to this legacy of curiosity, quality and adventure.
