19 years of aging in ex-bourbon barrels

Foursquare Epilogue is aged for a minimum of 19 years in ex-bourbon barrels made of American white oak. The long maturation imparts great depth and complexity without allowing the oak to dominate the flavor profile.

The result is surprisingly elegant for a rum with such extensive cask aging. Ripe fruit, caramel, dark chocolate, and dried fruits blend with spicy notes from the casks. The 57% ABV adds extra intensity, structure, and a very long finish.

Single Blended Rum from Foursquare

Epilogue is crafted as a classic Foursquare Single Blended Rum. Distillates from copper double-retort pot stills are combined with distillates from the distillery’s traditional continuous column still.

Color:
Natural dark amber color with great depth.

Aroma:
Complex and intense, with notes of dried pineapple, raisins, and orange peel. This is followed by ripe cherries, marzipan, dark chocolate, caramel, and soft toffee.

Taste:
Full-bodied and elegant with lovely fruit sweetness. Sultana raisins, honey, ripe orange, and subtle hints of lemon are joined by caramel, dark chocolate, and spicy oak notes.

Finish:
Long, warm, and elegant with honey, dried pineapple, molasses cake, and toasted oak notes. The texture is full-bodied and slightly oily, and the flavor lingers for a long time.
