Graham’s 80 year Tawny Port – Port’s ultimate expression of time, patience and perfection

There are Port wines – and then there is Graham’s 80 Year Old Tawny Port. This is one of the rarest and most impressive Ports ever created. A wine where more than eight decades of slow barrel aging has transformed grapes, craftsmanship and time into pure art in liquid form. An experience for the few – and an icon for anyone who loves Port at the highest level.

With over 200 years of winemaking tradition, Graham’s stands as one of the world’s most respected Port houses. This 80 year old tawny is the culmination of generations of knowledge, patience and uncompromising quality. Every drop bears the mark of decades of quiet maturation in select oak barrels, where the wine has slowly developed an almost infinite depth, elegance and complexity.

Graham’s 80 Year Old Tawny Port is blended from some of the house’s very oldest barrels – wines that can be traced back to the 1940s. The result is an extraordinary tawny port with an intense amber-gold color and an aromatic richness that only comes from extreme age and perfect balance. This is not just a wine, but a journey through time and a living testimony to the greatness of Port.

Tasting notes

The nose is deeply complex and seductive, with notes of walnuts, dried figs and nut kernels that slowly open to honey, vanilla and noble old oak.

In the mouth, the wine unfolds with impressive concentration and finesse. The taste offers praline, black tea, caramelized fruit, quince and fine oxidative nuances. Despite its advanced age, the wine retains a remarkable freshness that provides balance and lifts the experience towards an almost endless finish.

Serve at around 16-18°C, preferably slightly chilled and in large glasses to allow the aromas to fully unfold. A port that deserves to be savored slowly – alone, in silence, or as a grand finale to a memorable meal.

The Douro Valley – the foundation of great port

The foundation of Graham’s 80 year old Tawny Port is created in the Douro Valley – one of the world’s most spectacular and extreme wine regions. Steep terraces, slatey soils and great climatic contrasts produce grapes of intense concentration and natural complexity. Graham’s owns five of the valley’s best vineyards, all classified as A-grade, and cultivates them with great respect for nature and the original character of the terroir.

The history of the house

The story of :contentReference[oaicite:0]{index=0} begins in 1820 when Scottish brothers William and John Graham received 27 barrels of port wine as payment for a debt. It was the start of a name that today is synonymous with some of the world’s most prestigious port wines.

In 1970, the Symington family took over the house. With generations of experience in the Douro Valley, the family has continued and refined Graham’s style with a deep respect for tradition combined with modern innovation. The motto “Do Not Forget” sums up the house philosophy perfectly – honoring the past while shaping the great Ports of the future.

Graham’s 80 Year Old Tawny Port is not just a wine. It’s a story of life, time and love of the craft – and an unforgettable gift for the uncompromising Port lover.
