René Lequin-Colin Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru 2018 – Outstanding white Burgundy at the absolute top

René Lequin-Colin Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru 2018 is white Burgundy at the highest level. This is one of the world’s most prestigious Grand Cru vineyards, where only the best Chardonnay grapes are allowed to bear the Bâtard-Montrachet name.

From this legendary field, René Lequin-Colin has just 0.13 hectares at his disposal. The entire production comes from this one parcel, and only one 300-liter barrel is made per year. This makes the wine extremely rare and sought after by collectors and connoisseurs.

The 2018 vintage offers both concentration and balance. Sun-ripened fruit combines with precise acidity and a distinctive minerality. It’s a wine with great ageing potential, but also with impressive depth right now.

Details and character

The grapes are hand-harvested and vinified with great precision. The wine is aged for 12 months in oak barrels, giving structure, complexity and great integration between fruit and barrel.

Bâtard-Montrachet is known for its power and richness compared to its neighbor Le Montrachet. Here you get intensity, buttery texture and a deep mineral core that only Grand Cru can deliver.
