Royal Brackla 16 year is a rare and uncompromising Highland single malt, selected and bottled by renowned independent bottler Woodrow’s of Edinburgh. It’s a whisky at the very top of its game – created for enthusiasts, collectors and connoisseurs looking for authenticity, depth and an expression you don’t come across every day.

The whisky is distilled at the historic Royal Brackla and matured for 16 years. First in a refill hogshead, which has preserved the distillery’s elegant and fruity house style, and then finished in a 1st fill American Oak Palo Cortado Quarter Cask. This final maturation adds an extra dimension of warmth, spice and refined sweetness that lifts the whole significantly.

The bottling is bottled at natural cask strength of 56.7% and appears without chill filtration and without added color. Only 155 bottles have been released worldwide, making this Royal Brackla a highly desirable release – both for the collection and for slow, respectful enjoyment.

Tasting notes

Nose: Elegant and inviting with honey-glazed nuts, ripe peaches and freshly baked vanilla cream. With a little air, notes of orange peel, dried flowers and light oak develop.

Flavor: Rich and nuanced. Toffee, fruit compote and almond cake are nicely balanced by spicy and slightly vinous notes from the Palo Cortado cask. A flavor that unfolds more and more with every sip.

Finish: Long, round and harmonious with dark chocolate, orange marmalade and a pleasant, warm spicy finish.
