The rum was distilled in 2004 at the legendary Diamond Distillery in Guyana, known for its historic stills and iconic Demerara style. The rum was then aged for 18 years in barrels, slowly developing its rich and dark character. Bottled in 2023 by Silver Seal Whisky Company, it ensures a rum in its purest and most authentic form.

On the nose, you are greeted by an intense and dark aroma. Here you’ll find notes of brown sugar, molasses and deep caramel. Layers of dried fruit, licorice and roasted coffee beans emerge. The oak adds structure and provides a nice balance.

The flavor is rich and concentrated. It opens with sweet notes of toffee and dark sugar. This is followed by nuances of cocoa, spices and a hint of smoke. The 55.1% alcohol gives power, but is nicely integrated. The finish is long, warm and persistent with plenty of depth.
