Aftenrødme Vintage 2017 from Nyborg Distillery is a whisky brimming with character and intensity. It was distilled in March 2017 and bottled in August 2025 – with only 94 bottles in existence. This unique release was aged in a 1st fill oloroso sherry butt, giving the whisky a deep, amber-golden color and a complex aroma where sweetness and spice merge in perfect harmony.

Tasting Notes – Aftenrødme Vintage 2017
Nose: Rich aromas of dark raisins, figs, and prunes with hints of dark chocolate, orange peel, and a lightly toasted nutty note from the oloroso cask.
Palate: Intense and warming, with flavors of dried fruit, spiced oak, and touches of caramel and cinnamon. A beautiful balance of sweetness and strength, where the alcohol carries the flavors without overpowering them.
Finish: Long and complex – warm, deep, and slightly smoky at the edges, like a sunset slowly fading on the horizon.

The Story of Nyborg Distillery
In the heart of Funen, in a historic building that once housed a railway workshop, you’ll find Nyborg Distillery. For over 125 years, the site buzzed with activity, and today it buzzes again – now with craftsmanship, passion, and the scent of malt.

The distillery works organically and sustainably, with grain grown just a few kilometers from the stills. Even many of the casks used for maturation come from 150–200-year-old trees from the island.
