Barros Colheita 2007 – Exclusive barrel aged port from Douro

Unlike Vintage Port, which develops in the bottle, a Colheita matures exclusively in wooden barrels. This results in a softer, more rounded style with great depth and fine oxidative notes. Barros Colheita 2007 is therefore an ideal choice for those who want a Port with balance, maturity and plenty of character.

The long barrel ageing has given the wine a beautiful golden brown color and an intense aroma profile. This is a port that fills the mouth and develops beautifully in the glass. Perfect at the end of a good meal or as a quiet moment in itself.

Barros was founded in 1913 by Manuel de Almeida under the name Almeida & Ca. His ambition was to create one of the world’s leading Port houses. That goal was achieved and the house has been known for its high quality ever since. At one point, Barros accounted for around 6% of total port production. Today, the house is especially famous for its Colheita Ports, where they really show their strength and experience.
