Bunnahabhain Staoisha 10 year is a raw and alluring Islay single malt that shows the distillery at its most intense and smoky. This is the rare Staoisha style – Bunnahabhain’s heavily peat-smoked expression – bottled by uncompromising independent bottler Woodrow’s. A whisky created for enthusiasts looking for ocean, smoke and depth at the very top of the range.

Distilled at Bunnahabhain on November 3, 2014, the whisky was first matured in a refill hogshead before being aged for a full three years in a 1st fill American Oak Pedro Ximénez Sherry Hogshead. This finish adds a luxurious sweetness and depth that plays beautifully against the maritime peat smoke.

Bottled on March 5, 2025 at natural cask strength of 52.9%, with no chill filtration and no colorant, this Staoisha is completely honest in its expression. With only 196 bottles from cask 10868, this is a true small batch Islay whisky that collectors and dedicated drinkers alike will chase.

Tasting notes

Nose: Fresh sea air and soft peat smoke open the ball, followed by sweet PX sherry, raisins and dark chocolate. Notes of caramel, salt and seaweed add depth and maritime character.

Flavor: Rich and vibrant. The smoky core is enveloped by layer upon layer of sherry sweetness – dates, brown sugar and vanilla – nicely balanced by pepper, oak and a hint of citrus.

Finish: Long, warm and lingering with soft smoke, dark chocolate, sherry and an elegant touch of sea salt. A finish that lingers for a long time.
