Château Brane-Cantenac Margaux 2015 – aristocratic finesse from one of Margaux’s great classics

Château Brane-Cantenac 2015 is the epitome of classic Margaux: silky texture, aromatic depth and an elegance that only the best châteaux master. In the outstanding 2015 vintage, this 2nd Cru Classé château shows why it is one of the most respected names in the appellation. This is a wine with both power and grace – a wine that speaks to both the collector and the connoisseur.

In the glass, the wine appears deep ruby red with great intensity. The nose opens with blackcurrants, ripe cherries and plums, elegantly flanked by violets, cedar, tobacco and a hint of graphite. The palate is harmonious and precise with silky tannins, fresh acidity and an impressive balance of fruit, barrel and minerality. The aftertaste is long, refined and persistent – just like a great Margaux should be.

the 2015 vintage gives the wine a generous fruit profile combined with structure and ageing potential. It can be enjoyed now with decanting, but will develop beautifully over the next 15-20 years. Perfect with beef, lamb, duck, game or mature cheeses.

The house behind the wine

In the heart of the prestigious Margaux appellation lies Château Brane-Cantenac – a 75-hectare estate that has been synonymous with quality and finesse for generations. Classified as a 2nd Cru Classé in the 1855 classification, the château has built a reputation for wines of remarkable elegance and precision.

Brane-Cantenac is known for its unique terroir with gravelly soils that provide optimal conditions for Cabernet Sauvignon in particular. The combination of traditional craftsmanship, modern vinification and uncompromising selection ensures wines that express both the character of the area and the house signature. The result is Margaux wines with silky texture, aromatic complexity and great ageing potential.
