Château Talbot 4th Cru Classé Saint-Julien 2016 – Great classic Bordeaux with silky finesse

Château Talbot 4th Cru Classé Saint-Julien 2016 is the epitome of classic Médoc elegance. With 110 hectares of contiguous vineyards in the heart of Saint-Julien – an appellation with as many as 11 classified châteaux – Talbot occupies one of the area’s most privileged addresses, close to the banks of the Gironde estuary. Here, the maritime climate and gravelly soil create optimal conditions for the greatness of the Cabernet Sauvignon grape.

The 2016 vintage is considered one of the great vintages of Bordeaux, and Talbot combines power and structure with the characteristic elegance of the house. The result is a wine that is rich and concentrated, yet refined and harmonious – a wine that can be enjoyed in its youth and cellared for decades.

Under the direction of Nancy Bignon-Cordier and with the advice of renowned oenologist Eric Boissenot and consultant Stéphane Derenoncourt, uncompromising quality is ensured year after year. Talbot’s style is consistent: deep fruit, silky tannins and a balance that makes the wines irresistible.

Serve at 16-18°C and give the wine 1-2 hours in the decanter. Perfect with beef, lamb, game and classic French dishes.

The history of the house

Château Talbot is one of the most traditional châteaux in Saint-Julien and was classified as 4th Cru Classé in 1855. For generations, the château has been known for its consistent quality and its ability to combine power and finesse.

Its ideal location on the Gironde estuary provides the vineyards with a temperate climate that ensures optimal ripeness and structure. With modern investments and a deep respect for tradition, Talbot continues to produce wines that live up to the appellation’s proud reputation.
