Craigellachie 10 Year Old Speyside Single Malt from A.D. Rattray is an intense and characterful whisky bottled at full cask strength. This release is part of the coveted Cask Collection, where independent bottlings from specially selected casks allow whisky lovers to experience the distillery’s style in its most pure and concentrated form.

The whisky is distilled at Craigellachie Distillery in the heart of Speyside – a distillery known for its powerful and rich malt profile. The distillate was put into casks on November 7, 2011 and then matured for 10 years. The long maturation has given the whisky a great balance of fruit, spice and deep cask notes.

For the first seven years, the whisky was aged in a classic sherry butt cask, which added rich fruit notes and warm spices. Then the whisky is given an additional 30-month finish in a former Glenallachie sherry butt cask. This final maturation brings even greater complexity and a deeper sweetness to the flavor.

Bottling was done at a cask strength of 65%, resulting in a powerful and concentrated whisky experience. Only 552 bottles have been bottled from this cask, making this release an exciting bottle for collectors and whisky enthusiasts looking for something special.

Tasting notes

Nose: Seville orange, roasted plum and crystallized ginger.

Taste: Raspberry jam, juicy nectarine and fresh lemon zest.

Finish: Sweet jam with notes of walnut and a hint of cloves.
