Tasting notes

Color: Deep purple-red with an intense core.

Aroma: Complex bouquet of violets, licorice, damson plums and blackberries. Notes of grilled herbs, bacon fat and smoldering incense add depth. Dark chocolate and subtle spices round out the whole.

Flavor: Richly textured and vibrant on the palate. Well-defined layers of black plum, raspberry and truffles. Nuances of nutmeg, licorice and white pepper. A distinctive stony minerality ties it all together. Touches of espresso, sage and vanilla add complexity.

Finish: Long and persistent with echoes of blackberries, truffles and cool minerality.

Aging and serving

This Syrah will evolve beautifully over time. It is expected to reach a particularly harmonious ripe phase after 7-9 years and can easily age for 15 years or more. Decant 1-2 hours before serving. Serve at 16-18 °C.
