Ihringer Spätburgunder Rosé Trocken Baden 2024 – elegant and fresh rosé from Kaiserstuhl

Ihringer Spätburgunder Rosé Trocken Baden 2024 is an inviting and crisp German rosé from the sunny Kaiserstuhl in Baden – an area known for creating elegant wines with plenty of fruit and finesse. Made from Pinot Noir, or Spätburgunder as the grape is known in Germany, this rosé is beautifully balanced between fresh acidity, juicy berries and delicate aromatic nuances.

The warm volcanic soils of Kaiserstuhl give the wine a particularly ripe fruit character and an elegant structure that makes this rosé both charming and gastronomically versatile. It’s a wine that’s perfect for light summer dishes, barbecues on the terrace or as a cool glass in the sun.

In the glass, the wine has a beautiful and discreet apricot rosé color. The bouquet is intense and refreshing with notes of orange, lychee, fresh strawberries and a hint of mint. The taste is vibrant and elegant with nuances of rhubarb, green apple and fine red berries. The acidity is fresh and crisp, while the finish is firm, clean and pleasantly persistent.

The history of the house

Kaiserstuhl Winegrowers’ Cooperative Ihringen eG has been a symbol of unity, passion and dedication to the world of wine for generations. The history of the cooperative is characterized by both challenges and successes – from the difficult years of war to periods of economic uncertainty. Through a strong sense of community and a shared love of winemaking, the winegrowers of Ihringen have managed to create one of the most respected cooperatives in Baden.

The cooperative has always been known for forward thinking and breaking new ground. Today, modern technology plays an important role in production, but traditional viticulture still lives on as a core part of the house’s identity. The combination of innovation and proud craftsmanship helps create wines with character, authenticity and high quality.

The Kaiserstuhl region is considered a true wine paradise by many wine connoisseurs. Here in Ihringen, the vineyards are located on some of the sunniest slopes in Germany, amidst a unique volcanic landscape characterized by lava, loess and clay soil. The warm Mediterranean climate and the many hours of sunshine provide perfect conditions for growing elegant and aromatic wines.

Burgundy grapes such as Spätburgunder and the classic white varieties thrive here and have made Ihringen famous far beyond Germany’s borders. At the same time, the house is also experimenting with modern and sustainable Piwi grapes, which also benefit from the area’s unique terroir.
