This limited edition comes from cask no. 222 and is bottled in just 263 bottles. The whisky is first matured in refill hogshead and then finished in first fill French Oak Oloroso sherry hogshead. This adds an extra dimension of depth, spice and dark fruit that perfectly complements Laphroaig’s raw smoke profile.

Bottled at a high cask strength of 58.6%, it delivers a concentrated, oily and extremely aromatic experience. This is Islay whisky for connoisseurs – intense, complex and with great ageing and collector value.

Tasting notes

Nose: Alluring and powerful with coastal smoke, salty sea breeze and damp, burnt oak. Beneath the smoke are freshly sliced apple, lemon zest and dark demerara sugar.

Taste: Heavy and oily mouthfeel. Classic Laphroaig notes of iodine, hospital smoke and peat intertwine with deep sherry layers of prunes, dates and toffee. Spicy nuances of nutmeg, cardamom and a subtle hint of orris root add complexity.

Finish: Long, intense and persistent. Spicy warmth from nutmeg and star anise combine with damp smoke, earthy notes and an elegant, slightly dry finish.
